During the first week of November, our students were fortunate to visit the Pop Up Globe Theatre in Melbourne. The Pop-up Globe is the world’s first full-scale temporary working replica of one of the greatest theatres in history, the second Globe. Students experienced what the theatre would have been like during the 1600s in England.

For our Year 8-10 Drama students, this was an opportunity to observe how professional actors use their expressive skills and also to analyse the stagecraft of a Shakespearean play. For our ACE English students, it was an opportunity to watch the Shakespearean plays that they have studied this year or the ones that they will be studying next year. The year 7 and 8 ACE English students watched ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ while the Year 9 and 10 ACE English and Literature classes watched ‘Othello’.
